Building Daily Independence With 24/7 Personalised Support

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is assistance for people who need help with daily tasks so they can live as independently as possible. SIL homes are usually shared living environments with dedicated support staff.

SIL includes support with:

Personal care (showering, dressing, hygiene)

Meal preparation and cooking

Medication assistance

Household tasks like cleaning and laundry

Building independence and daily living skills

24/7 onsite or on-call support

A Safe, Comfortable Break With Fully Supported Temporary Stays

Short-Term Accommodation (STA)

Short-Term Accommodation (previously known as respite care) provides temporary stays away from home for NDIS participants.

STA is ideal for:

Individuals wanting a short break from their usual environment

Families and carers who need time to rest or attend to personal matters.

Building confidence, social skills, and independence

STA stays typically include:

24/7 support

Meals

Activities and community access

Personal care assistance

Transitional Housing While You Move Into Your Long-Term Home

Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)

Medium-Term Accommodation is temporary housing for people who are waiting for a more permanent home arrangement to be ready.

MTA is designed for situations such as:

Waiting for SIL or SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) approval

Delays in home modifications

Transitioning out of hospital or another support setting

Features of MTA:

Support services as needed (depending on the participant’s plan)

Safe, fully furnished accommodation

Typically funded for up to 90 days

Short Breaks That Support Wellbeing for Participants and Carers

Respite Homes

Respite homes offer short breaks—similar to STA—but are often more flexible and focused on wellbeing, routine relief, and renewal.

MTA is designed for situations such as:

A change of environment in a supportive setting

Personal support tailored to the participant's needs

Time for carers and families to recharge
